Hiking to Fight Leukemia

I am in the process of organizing a blood drive and bone marrow registry sign up. There will be more information to come.

This is my nephew Ben on his 5th birthday in his hospital room surrounded by some of his cousins. He has Leukemia is fighting with all his might.

In December my husband Greg and I will be hiking Warner Springs to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I have a meeting tonight and will post more details as I get them.

Research is soooooo important. The survival rate for Leukemia has quadrupled in the last 30 years. I lost my cousin Mark Whitaker to this disease 28 years...but Ben Whitaker has a chance with your help.

Pine Valley Days/ Breast Cancer 3 day fundraiser

My Friend Vevalee Anderson told me a while back that she was going to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk for the Cure event and was trying to come up with idea's to raise money.

She mentioned a bake sale and naturally I jumped at the chance to offer The Crumb Runner Cookie Co.'s services. She got a booth at the Pine Valley Days and we donated 15 dozen pink ribbon cookies to sell, all the proceeds went to sponsor the walk.

We met a lot of survivors and a lot of people who told us of their loses. As we talked with people it became very clear just how rampant this disease is.
Thank you to everyone who bought cookies and/or donated.
